On March 23rd, AZ Team participated as a team in the Phoenix Neon Run. We chose to participate in this event because we knew it would be something fun and different for our staff to look forward to outside of the office. This was a great chance for our staff to run and/or walk alongside one another to continue building relationships and promote a fun and healthy workplace.
In addition, AZ Team believes in giving back to the community. Although the Neon Run did not offer organizations to donate to, we decided to raise money for an International organization. The staff was asked to fundraise in order to participate in the run. Whether they donated personally or got their friends and family involved, we were able to raise over $600!

AZ Team participated in the 9th Annual Pat’s Run on Saturday. Pat’s Run is organized by the Pat Tillman Foundation and is a 4.2 mile walk/run around Tempe and Arizona State University. AZ Team chose the Pat Tillman Foundation and the Pat’s Run event because they believe in the power of a positive environment and the mission that Pat’s Run instills on the community.

This was especially significant due to the devastation at the Boston Marathon finish line bombing. The social media is flooded with support and comments asking the runners and walkers to wear red socks or yellow shoelaces in honor of those that lost their lives or were injured on Monday. So we took it upon ourselves to wear red socks in honor of the Boston bombing victims.

On Sunday, February 10th, staff members of AZ Team participated in the Spartan Sprint as a team under the name “Arizona’s Finest”. The Spartan Sprint is one of the many series for the commonly known Spartan Race. The sprint consisted of 4.7 miles of muddy terrain, mountainous trails, and over 15 challenging obstacles designed by 7 ultra-athletes and a Royal Marine.

While AZ Team did not come in first place in the Spartan Sprint, they created a memory for the books and plan to continue their Fun Fitness Program through many more endurance activities such as this one.

AZ Team has once again adopted a family through The Salvation Army's Adopt-A-Family program. With the holidays approaching, we want to celebrate the theme of the spirit of giving, and help families in need. This year we have adopted a family of three. Although the families remain anonymous, we hope that this family finds joy and enjoys their time together opening their gifts donated by AZ Team and celebrating. We look forward to adopting another family next year.
